Because we have already developed and refined the designs and construction methods, we can make these tables efficiently while offering a wide range of customisation options.
Every table is individually made to order, with your choice of dimensions, 24mm or 30mm material thickness, edge profile, wooden or metal straightening bars and 30+ colours with Rubio Monocoat, our standard wood finish.

Residential custom table tops
Example price guide
| Table top size | Guide price |
|---|---|
| 140 x 60cm | £729 |
| 170 x 75cm | £953 |
| 200 x 95cm | £1,109 |
The above examples are based on a specification including regular shape, 24mm prime grade full stave solid oak, fully recessed metal straightening bars and our standard wood finish. Alternative materials, thicknesses, custom features and design consulting time may affect the final price.
Every custom size table top is individually handmade to order, involving discussion of requirements, consideration of design and construction options, and careful planning of the work.
Pieces are made and finished by hand in our workshop, to the customer’s chosen dimensions and specifications.
The prices above are for regular rectangular table tops. We can accommodate a wide range of custom requirements, although features involving additional materials, design work or workshop time will increase the cost. Examples include:
- Bespoke shapes – irregular outlines, L-shapes, curved edges, and rounded corners.
- Cut-outs and notches – for cables, sockets, walls, pipes or other fittings.
- Specialist edge profiles – unusual bevels, traditional moulded profiles or natural live (waney) edges.
- Additional construction requirements – specialist fixing arrangements, reinforcement or modifications.
Completely bespoke furniture
The following examples from our portfolio illustrate the approximate budgets that would be appropriate for similar projects.
They are intended as a general guide rather than fixed prices. Actual quotations will depend on dimensions, materials, specifications and the amount of design and workshop time involved.

Example budget: £3,000–£4,000

Example budget: £4,000–£5,000
For a completely bespoke dining table, we recommend allowing a starting budget of at least £1,200, with larger or more complex designs costing considerably more.
We welcome enquiries for original furniture designs, including tables, desks, shelving, reception counters and other individually commissioned pieces.
Unlike our established designs, these projects often require additional planning, research and development before construction can begin. The extent of this work varies considerably depending on the design.
A relatively straightforward average sized bespoke table might cost around £1,500–£2,000, while projects involving more complex joinery, structural features or substantial development work may cost £2,000–£3,000 or considerably more.
Smaller or simpler bespoke items, such as individual table tops or shelving, can sometimes be made for less.
We assess each project individually, taking into account the work required to turn the initial idea into a finished piece of furniture.
How we calculate bespoke prices
We base our quotations on three main factors:
1. Design, Planning and Preparation
This includes discussing the project with the customer, exploring construction options, researching materials and hardware, and preparing any drawings, samples, templates or prototypes required. It may also involve sourcing specialist tools and equipment.
2. Materials and Hardware
We calculate the cost of the timber, hardware and other materials needed for the project. We do not add a profit margin to these costs, although we may make an allowance for material wastage where appropriate.
3. Workshop Time
We estimate the time required to manufacture, assemble, sand and finish the furniture, including any particularly detailed or labour-intensive processes.
This approach means that relatively simple designs requiring less development time and fewer materials will generally be less expensive than complex commissions.
It also means we can explain how a quotation has been calculated, rather than applying an arbitrary price to a bespoke design.
Enquiring about a bespoke project
If you are considering commissioning a bespoke piece, please contact us with as much information as you can about your requirements.
Ideally, this would include approximate dimensions, preferred materials, photographs or drawings showing the style you have in mind, and any particular construction or design features.
It is also helpful to know your approximate budget so we can assess whether your requirements are achievable within it.
We can then review the project and provide an initial indication of likely costs before progressing to more detailed discussions or design work.
