Office desk with bespoke curved shape

The customer wanted a desk to make use of an empty corner, designed to be both functional and visually inspiring. They provided a cardboard template, which we used as the basis to recreate the shape in solid oak, ensuring the final piece matched their vision exactly.

bespoke curved edge top

A key design request was for the most prominent end support to feature a distinctive curve that complements the flowing shape of the top. We presented several options with different curves, allowing the customer to select the one that best suited the overall aesthetic.

Practicality was also carefully considered: a cupboard with a hinged door was incorporated into the centre of the longer side, while a narrow shelved unit on the other side was designed to house IT equipment. Beneath the back edge, a cable management system was installed using a row of wooden dowels, with round notches in the centre of both surfaces to allow cables to pass through cleanly.

Constructed almost entirely from 24mm solid oak, the desk was finished in a dark tinted hardwax oil, providing a durable surface while highlighting the rich grain and natural character of the timber.

The desk was delivered by van in two parts – plus the base units – and installed on-site at the customer’s office in Fitzrovia, Central London.

The table looks great! I’ve got a good look at it and it has worked out very nicely.” – Customer email
